Show up anyways

I can't count the number of times I've tried to talk my way out of going to an event I should really be at. Although the other day I actually had enough crazy mishaps on my side to justify a pass. Nothing tragic but let's see cleaning up dog sh*@, chasing the dog down the street 2x and being slapped in the face by my sweet 2 year old daughter (the cutest little devil in the world) while trying to hustle her in the carseat all by 8 am is a bit much really. By the time I settled at my desk I was exhausted and on the verge of tears. Then my calendar alarm pops up with the event, Igniting Passion In Your Work and Life with Marcia Wieder (Jack Canfield's personal coach), starting in one hour. Are you kidding me??! Ignite this was my first thought and forgetta about it was my second one! Then my inner star kicked in with you better get your butt there because you will just waste hours thinking about how crappy (literally) your morning was and that's not so inspiring. So off I went to Marcia's unbelievable talk about discovering your purpose and pursuing your dreams. (bonus tip - quickest way to make dreams come to fruition is to enroll or share your dream with everyone you know.)
So I arrived with open mind and heart because that's all I had. I looked around to find that many others needed to be there too. I think Marcia needed to be there! What you discover when you get out and candid with others is you're not alone! Life s hard and we're all trying to figure it out the best we can and over time realize, we can't do it alone. You have to show up.
Here's the other crazy thing that always amazes me when I attend these inspirational events. I sit there among the most successful, inspiring people I know and they still show up. Hmmm...they must know a thing or two...:)
