Perfect 4th of July tune: Ray Charles singing America The Beautiful
Monday, July 5, 2010 at 6:36AM America, The Beautiful started out as a poem written back in 1893 by Katharine Bates inspired by a train trip she took from Massachusetts to Colorado. America, The Beautiful was published two-years later in the The Congregationalist to commemorate the Fourth of July. Sung by many, this version by Ray Charles is a favorite!
