Save a life, join Oprah's no phone zone day!

Over 500,000 people are injured and 6,000 are killed every year from people using their phones or texting while driving! Staggering numbers that are not slowing down and I'm not surprised. I'm guilty of driving while on the phone and often think how distracting it really is. I've also been an outraged passenger watching my friend text while we were driving 70 mph on a freeway! I had to yell at him that there is no call, email or text that is worth losing our lives over.

Oprah is on a mission to stop the insanity. She has declared this Friday, April 30th, the first national No Phone Zone Day. I encourage everyone to seriously think about taking the pledge (I did) and spreading the news!

Click here for video clips and facts on how texting while driving has impacted the lives of many.

This is a good step, and I hope it leads to the more drastic step of educating and informing people about the dangers of cell phones in and of themselves, even when they're not being used by drivers. For an eye-opener regarding some of those dangers and what you can do about them, try starting here: http://www.naturalhealthstrategies.com/cell-phone-safety-presentations.html
