Detox foods to eat and avoid
Wednesday, January 13, 2010 at 7:16AM I've been following WholeLiving's 4-week action plan to get inspired to eat healthier. The first week was the detoxing phase which I have to be honest, I am not 100% ready for. After the holidays, I've been trying to get back into my routine (juggle work, the household and two girls) so not ready to give up my coffee and get headaches. BUT I did make a few minor changes to my diet that was inspired by the WholeLiving's action plan and exactly what I needed. I have consumed less wine, meat and have eaten more fruits and vegetables. I also just purchased two jugs of Naked Juice's Green Machine from Coscto. See! Not bad!! Small steps is what I say :)
One morning I had cottage cheese with a heaping of fruit for breakfast - what I thought was a huge step towards eating a better breakfast - when I came back to my desk to see this list of detox foods to eat and avoid. Of course, dairy is top of the avoid list. The next food to avoid is grains. Well, I just got a new breadmaker so that takes care of that one, although there might be a gluten-free recipe. Not something the family will be too excited about. You see how hard it can be!?
