The beautiful mystery flower that inspired drawing

Does anyone know what this unusual flower is called? I found her growing in my backyard among some big green leafy vines. She bloomed out of nowhere after some rain. I'm not surprised she waited to show her pretty face until after the heat went away. Those delicate strings don't look like they would survive the kind of heat we saw here in Austin this summer.

I love this moment I caught on camera of Ava, my daughter and artista, being inspired to draw the beautiful purple mystery flower.

The finished drawing with the whole family and Lexi, our cat who looks like an angel cat :)!

Thanks! The wikipedia link was full of interesting info on this flower. It mentioned the leaves can be used to make a tea that treats insomnia and has anti-depressant properties. Maybe I should bottle it up and sell some! Ha! It was such a treat to find them in the yard although the blooms only stayed on the leaf for a couple of days. I can see why your grandma would call it a clock flower :)

The passion flower is also the passionfruit flower and has biblical descriptions to it as well. :) It's one of my favourite flowers. Bleeding Heart Flowers are also an interesting species:)
