Zen quickies: 10 ways to feel more balanced in life instantly

Just reading the sign "beach massage" makes me feel more relaxed!

Note from Misty: This is a guest post from one of my favorite inspirational entrepreneurial warriors, Jennifer Tuma-Young. She is one busy gal (not to mention the real deal, always supportive, and has a great attitude on life that is simply contagious) but always finds time to share her practical and fun tips to help us busy ladies find balance in life. Make sure to stop by Jennifer's website at Inspirista for more life-balance tools.

I, like many of you, wear multiple hats. I'm a wife, a mother, a friend, a daughter, a sister, a toy-fixer. I'm a writer, a speaker, a consultant, a lifestylist, an entrepreneur. I could go on, but I think you get my drift!

Juggling lots of things can make us feel a bit crazed, unless we embrace the moments, and leave juggling for the clowns!! I think it's the little things that make the biggest difference, and besides, when we focus on the things we CAN control, finding balance is a piece of cake!!

Here are 10 simple, practical, and totally fun ways to feel more balanced instantly!!

  1. Write a morning "to-do" list. Bonus points for smiling when writing it.
  2. Drink lots of water - add lemon for an extra zing!!
  3. Organize your space bit by bit - start by organizing just the space you're working in right now.
  4. Give someone a sincere, unexpected compliment. Notice the little things.
  5. Do something silly, like take a dance break or jump for joy!!
  6. Donate your time, clothes, toys, and/or furniture.
  7. Use a calendar system that actually works for you. Figure out your "Planner Personality."
  8. Say "no" to something you know you just can't handle.
  9. Handwrite a letter to an old friend.
  10. Take 2 minutes in the morning and 2 minutes in the evening to just breathe.

AND *BONUS TIP* if you really want to "get balanced", bubbles do wonders! Blow bubbles or take a bubble bath, whatever your fancy!!
