Warm Water
Less than a year ago, I went through a Soul Essence Session with Jan and Nica of Tumbling Goddess. The first session is all about uncovering who you are at the core. This requires peeling back the painful parts of life and all the crazy stuff we've experienced over the years. The goal: rediscover what in life truly makes you giddy, excited and passionate so you have your own recipe or "fun to-do list" to help you find peace when you need it most.
Jan and Nica asked me, "what do you remember being your favorite activities as a kid and now as an adult?" After balling my head off this was my response -- when I was a kid I absolutely loved the marathon days at the beach, swimming in the pool for hours, going fishing with my dad and waterskiing with my cousins. My answer for the things I love now - this doesn't necessarily mean I do them all the time. I love scuba diving, swimming with my girls, spending time with family and walks on the beach.
Most of my answers all had something to with water. I rediscovered something I already knew deep down. I not only love water but I NEED water in my life. But this is what I really learned. I need warm water. The kind you can jump in, dive in and swim under water without being shocked or having to put on a wet suit. Unfortunately, the ocean temperature in Central California rarely gets above 65 degrees. So when we recently moved to Austin near Lake Travis and rented a house with a pool, I am happier than a pig in mud. I can teach my girls to water ski, I can go swimming any time I please and the water is warm! Woo hoo!
People ask me all time, isn't it hot? My response, I don't mind because I have my warm water and that's what I need! :)
