Vegas by Sara Bareilles for Inspiration Monday!

I loved the Grammy's! The surprising rockin' performances for me were Neil Diamond and Kid Rock.

My interpretation of Vegas by Sara Bareilles is you can chase your dreams but you can't run or hide from your problems...

Vegas

gonna sell my car and go to Vegas
cause somebody told me that's where dreams would be
gonna sell my car and go to Vegas
finally see my name upon the Palace marquis

gonna quit my job and move to New York
cause somebody told thats where dreams should go
gonna quit my job and move to New York
and tattoo my body with every Broadway show

listen up now honey you're gonna be sorry
can't get out from under a sky that is falling and you say
no fame no money i'm nobody
the way i'm running has sure got me down on my knees
but next stop Vegas please
gotta get to Vegas
can you take me to Vegas

I love Sara! Great video! She is an amazing singer/songwriter - and also a UCLA Bruin! I've had her CD for a couple years now and i NEVER get sick of it! It always manages to pick me up and get me in a go-girl mood!

Hi Misty,
I love this song. We can live with our dreams for a while. But when we get up from the bed our problems are still staring at us.

Oh please don't 'chase' dreams ! Seems to me that when one chases, the prey runs away ; )

If not master of our own destinies, following our dreams (they are right there inside of you, waiting), we might wind up as mere kindling in someone else's.

I think that you and your dreams matter. Come on, please get on the bus!! It's fun and besides - This really world needs you!
