"We can all learn to create an anticancer biology in our body. There is no guarantee that it will stop cancer, but it will often slow it down. And nobody I know ever regretted trying." - David Servan-Schreiber, Author of Anticancer: A new way of life
If I was granted one wish, my wish would be "that cancer never existed in the world." Unfortunately, one-third of us eventually will get full-fledge cancer. A statistic that blew me away and inspired me to share these powerful tips on how to beat cancer. My other motivation is watching a close family member struggle to fight cancer, a common connection among a lot of us. With February being National Cancer Prevention month, there is no better time to get inspired and informed so all of us can be proactive in the fight against cancer!
Did you know?
- At any given time, the average person might have thousands of cancer cells in his/her body. They are harmless, but any one of them could potentially proliferate and form a mass of cells or tumor due to environmental or lifestyle factors.
- One-third of cancer is diet related. 85% of all cancers are caused by environmental and lifestyle factors.
- Cancer is the second largest killer in the United States after heart disease, with over 1 million new cases diagnosed each year, and is predicted to overtake the #1 spot by 2010.
