Let's make a promise to end fat talk

Why this promise is important: 54% of women would rather be hit by a truck than be fat!
As a mother of two daughters - this idea of stopping fat talk is very important to me so I love that I can help inspire others for Fat Talk Free week, an international 5-day public awareness effort to draw attention to body image issues and the damaging impact of the thin ideal on women in society founded by Delta, Delta, Delta.
Even though my daughters are young - Ava is five and Molly is only one, I've already had Ava say, "look at my fat belly". At the time I think she was just being silly but this innocent moment reminded me of my role as a mother. First off, I'm now teaching them to never tell someone they are fat, chunky, overweight. These words hurt and are powerful. It doesn't matter what size, shape or color someone is - we need to love everyone for who they are, not how they look. Easier said then done. I recently overheard two women watching TV and making commentary about how chunky and overweight the actress was. I thought to myself, "And we complain about the media! What are WE saying about how others look?"
The most challenging part of raising girls will be to build their confidence and self-esteem so they don't fall victim to their own fat talk or from their peers. I'm thankful for organizations like Girls Now!, an Austin girls empowerment network. If only, we all had access to these types of organizations growing up!
While writing this, I thought back to an 'old' boyfriend who never hesitated to tell me when my butt was getting big or I could stand to lose a few pounds. He's long gone but the break wasn't easy. I know there are many women in this situation who don't have the courage to make a change. I wish I could give every woman the strength and courage to stand up for themselves.
Whether you're a parent or not - we can all confess to saying fat talk or have personally experienced the impact fat talk can have. To further inspire us to make a promise to end fat talk - here's a few alarming stats:
- More than 2/3 of women ages 18-25 would rather be mean or stupid than be fat and over 50% would rather be hit by a truck.
- 1 in 4 women have avoided engaging in a physical activity or sport because they feel badly about the way they look.
- Fashion models are thinner than 98% of women.
- As many as 10 million females are suffering from anorexia or bulimia. That's more than are suffering from breast cancer.

That is known that cash makes us disembarrass. But how to act when someone doesn't have cash? The only one way is to try to get the personal loans or just college loan.
