An easy-care indoor plant that will inspire all winter long

Magical Air Plant Garden From Viva Terra

I love to get lost in the pages of Sunset, a lifestyle magazine always full of fun, inspiring ideas for living the good life out here in the West. Even though I've banned returning to the corporate world, Sunset Magazine looks like a great place to work. They often write about Sunset's headquarters with luscious gardens, frequent wine tastings, and new recipes they're cookin' up in the test kitchen.

Flipping through Sunset's January issue, I was inspired by the article "Floating on air" with the most gorgeous, exotic looking air plants! They used my two favorite words, undemanding and easy-care, to describe Tillandsias (air plants), native to tropical parts of America where they like to live without soil on trees and rocks. My kind of indoor plant! It will pair up well with the Aloe plant I recently bought from Trader Joes that is growing like a weed and a medicinal plant to boot. Succulent type plants I can handle. The less water you give them the better.

For those dealing with harsh Winters and a few more months to go - I thought the air plant could bring some inspiration to your indoors! Check out the magical air plant garden at Viva Terra, an eco living store or make your own garden with air plants from Airplants4u.

Don't forget to make My Inspiration Lounge your first stop when searching online! Of course, telling your friends would be nice too :) And I would be thrilled (and so would you!) if you signed up for InspireMail, my weekly newsletter!
