Watch The "I Pledge" Video To Help Obama Renew America

Subscribe to InspireMail. Your weekly retreat from the chaos.

”Let us summon a new spirit, of patriotism, of responsibility, where each of us resolves to pitch in and work harder and look after not only ourselves but each other.” - Barack Obama

We are the change. Renewing America will depend on us to take action and embrace life. And the Inaugural Celebrations have officially kicked off the "change movement". Our inspiration...the rockin' performances, the heartfelt speeches and now the video "I Pledge" by Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher. Yes, another celebrity video but well done and a good reminder for all :)

If all of us can unite and do our part to make a difference - smile more, volunteer more, be the voice for the those who have no voice, be a mentor and promise to never stop learning and growing everyday - to be the change. Imagine!

My Pledge: To inspire women around the world and my two daughters to realize their potential and pursue their dreams!

I pledge: To give more than I receive.

I pledge : not too laugh my butt off whenever I listen to this divel. Why are they only just now pledging all this great stuff? Most Americans have been doing these things for years. This is nothing more than liberal propaganda.

Now that we have a celebrity "rock star" as President, I suppose it's appropriate that celebrities show their support. Many, perhaps most, of the pledges are worthwhile, but as phillipb said, most Americans have been doing these things for years. What group is it that hasn't already been doing them, and why haven't they? Why is it important to do these "right things" now that Obama is President and was not when President Bush was in office? Do the pledgers understand that is the President's duty to serve the people, NOT the people's duty to "serve" the President. This is a democracy--NOT a monarchy.

I pledge to CONTINUE to serve others in honor of Christ....b.o. has nothing to do with it. Honestly, get a grip.....

I also pledge to treat b.o. with the same respect celebs, lefties, and media showed President Bush.

I furthermore pledge to refuse to allow myself or my children to fall victim to the "victimism" that has permeated our culture and propogated by the likes of b.o., polosi, frank, et al.

I PLEDGE TO GIVE LESS TO MYSELF AND MORE OF MYSELF.

I don't care who you are, that video is the cheesiest thing I have ever seen!

This is exactly why people hate Americans. Obama is asking people to go out and serve others. These celebrities are just taking his challenge and stating how they are going to do it. Rather than accept it as an effort to encourage others to start giving and helping others... people are making it out like a big joke. There are huge problems throughout the world and the US is the main cause of some of them. We are selfish and materialistic. Of course I believe wealthy celebrities should be doing much more than just making a video and should definitely donate more of their wealth... but I applaud them for trying to use their influence to get others to help as well. If we all made pledges to make changes to our own lives and then followed through with the pledge.... things would change. We can make a difference. If we continue to pretend that what we are doing is enough... then we are just ignorant. No it shouldn't take a celebrity or a president to make you change your life... but if that's what it takes... so be it! I pledge to encourage all these people putting forth all their effort in hating this video and the president to stop wasting the energy on that and start making a difference! Be the change you wish to see in the world!

I pledge to continue to love my country and pray that b.o. doesn't do too much damage to her before we can vote someone in that has a clue of what this country is really about. If the founders of this great nation could come back and see what all those idiot, far left nuts want to do to this country (turn it into Canada, or worse Cuba) they would go again in search of a "new world"!!!
The roll of government in this country is not to take care of us with free handouts, its to help enable us to WORK and take care of ourselves and our families. I'd like to see if all of these celebrities would like to live on a monthly check from the government! No, they've been able to make their own choices, work hard, dream and persue their goals. If you settle for a monthly handout, that's all you'll ever have.

I appreciate everyone's comments. It is rare that I post anything political. I created My Inspiration Lounge to inspire people and have a positive place online for everyone to hang out. I agree with all of you that many people have been helping out in their own ways long before Obama and various pledges from Hollywood and Starbucks. I consider these messages to those people who need more of a nudge or inspiration to get involved whether it's small or large. If these videos inspire less road rage, more compassion and small acts of kindness then I am completely for it!

this crap is absurd. I pledge my loyalty to God, family and country. That is the order that our Founding Fathers intended it to be. Why cant we get back to our roots on which our Great (for now) country was founded. Our "servants" which is what their job is supposed to be, should be wanting to serve us then our country, not the other way around
