What Inspires You? My First Video and Giveaway!

Check out my first video and giveaway! Yeah! I am so excited! So for the record, my video is not perfect! But I had fun, there is a surprise guest and I moved through my fears!

Giveaway details: Two lucky ladies will have a chance to win the book, The Vision Board: The Secret To An Extraordinary Life written by Joyce Shwarz. Thank you Joyce! You rock :) I didn't know much about vision boards until I met Joyce and read her book, an easy-to-follow guide on how to create vision boards for each area of your life. You can think of vision boards as essential tools to help you focus on what is important in your life instead of just thinking, hoping and wishing about what you want in life. The vision board examples in her book are absolutely beautiful and powerful!

To win a book, all you have to do is share with me What Inspires You by leaving a comment below or emailing me. I will pick one lucky and inspiring lady at the end of next week (12/12/08) and another one the following week (12/19/08). Watch the video for more details and to find out what inspires me!

What inspires me is my three beautiful daughters! They inspire me to be the best person I can be which gave birth to this burning desire to be a walking example of how to live in alignment with our true purpose and BEING. After my third daughter was born, she will be one year old tomorrow, I was so inspired to live my life passionately so that my daughters will learn that is the best way to live, I created a business that shows people how to create and manifest desires through the process of scrapbooking (my third passion, aligning with my highest potential being the second). My business instantly lifted to success and now some of my networking connections and I are planning world healings through skype in which we show people how to scrapbook to heal the world. Amazing stuff. Every day I wake up eager to discover new inspiration that will pave the way for my children and inspire others in this world simultaneously!! Check out my website and blog info below to get a better feel for what I do! I love your blog and gentle spirit. Many blessings to you, your family and your purpose!!!

Fabulous video Misty -- you continue to be an inspiration!

I'm all for flip flops too!

Distilled to the top 3 that inspire me are:

1) My little garden and the butterfiles and hummingbirds that visit. It's filled with plants that make me feel good inside - angels trumpets my favorite -- sculptures, butterflies, buddhas and items with personal meaning.

2) Sabrina my dog and energy muse.

3) The many women that no matter how challenging their circumstances are they are so filled with gratitude, keep it all going with a chin up, still lend a hand and keep their enthusiasm for life!

Misty,

You are awesome! I would have to say that I'm most inspired by children. Both my own and others. I want to make a difference for my own children and the many children I encounter daily. Over the past 5 years I've become an advocate and supporter of children with special needs. I was especially touched and changed forever by two autistic boys that were in my class last year. It's one thing to be inspired by children but quite another to do act on that inspiration. Daily I'm trying to act on it and become a better mother and teacher. I've got a ways to go but if I didn't, I guess I wouldn't be inspired anymore.

I am inspired by my family and nature. My three children
25-31 now all inspire me as does my beloved husband of many years! Nature in all her glory never ceases to uplift me, whether it is a walk on the beach or through the woods, a visit to islands, working in my garden, or kayaking with the loons and great blue herons. My inspiration for life comes from my loving parents who both now passed on have been amazing inspirations in their service to others.
The people in my world inspire me as well in diverse
ways. Perhaps my greatest source of inspiration comes from practicing and learning more the ways of a joyful
Christ whose teachings i find completely inspiring.

It's sunday morning and I'm reading recipe magazines. This time of year they come out with yummy cookie recipes and appetizers...I don't really enjoy cooking but I get so inspired by the ideas, the beautiful photos, the creativity and the thought of inviting friends over...(where they all help bring the food!)

Hi Misty! I am inspired by the designs fallen leaves make on cement after a rain, by the flower inside the flower of a bougainvillea, watching a skunk run across the lawn with its tail in the air, feeling a wave at that peak moment when it breaks into itself, hearing the call of a red-tailed hawk, seeing a whale breach from a distant cliff, waking up to newly-fallen snow, hearing the rain fall upon the roof. I'm inspired by the wonder of nature all around!
Thanks for being the natural you, Misty!
Love, Jan Kovarick Ruskin

Kind words. Kind words from people I know or compete strangers. I live with a lot of self-doubt and a lot of times all it takes to get me inspired is for someone to appreciate something I've done or provide words of encouragement :)

Although I am inspired by many people and things each day, my current project is VERY inspiring! I am reading the book The Best Year of Your Life by Debbie Ford. I am also working on her “Best Year of Your Life Kit” <http://www.amazon.com/Best-Year-Your-Life-Kit/dp/1401904793/ref=pd_bbs_sr_8?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1228939113&sr=8-8> . This has a workbook, journal, affirmations CD and weekly self-love cards and assignments.

There is one passage I really liked from the beginning of her book that particularly inspired me today. It starts be explaining that your best year is not about getting things you want, losing weight, getting out of debt., etc., but “The best year of your life is about becoming inspired by yourself, loving who you are and the choices you’re making. It’s about making peace with your past so that you can create a future that is unlike anything you have ever experienced. It’s about living each day grounded in reality, with passion and excitement for life, and inspiring others to do the same.” I just love that!!!

There are lots of things that inspire me but lately it has been my good friends helping each other out in decorating our homes. I am such a lousy decorator but with the help of my friends I have gained alot of great ideas. From picture placement to building shadow boxes and how to plan a room lay out.

God bless my friends for their willingness to assist in making my home a better place and God bless the internet for sharing what inspires me.

I hope I win this giveaway.

I'm inspired when I see a need that's unmet. I love envisioning possible solutions and letting my imagination fly. My most recent project was inspired by my toddler who loves baby dolls and "needs" a crib for them to sleep in. It will be so exciting to give the baby doll crib to my girl Christmas morning!

I draw inspiration from many areas in my life. One of the most inspiring things for me is watching, listening, and learning from other successful people, especially women entrepreneurs. Finding out what makes successful people tick is always very inspirational for me.

Striving to be a leader is also very inspiring to me because I know I'm teaching my boys by example. I'm forever cognizant about leaving a positive mark on this world, creating a legend, if you will. Years down the road, I'd love hearing my sons saying, "my mom was an absolute inspiration and leader to others by example; in business, in health, in knowledge, physically, and mentally!

The constant awareness that I need to create a legend for myself is what inspires me to try harder, accomplish goals, and be a leader in life.

I've kind of been searching for inspiration lately. My children do inspire me, to be a better person in order to teach them to be good, kind people. They inspire me to see goodness in everything first, and focus on that.

I'm always inspired by the many women I've met since I started blogging, and there are too many to name. As I get ready to turn 40, well ready or not actually, it's so inspirational to meet and read about so many brilliant, lovely women who are following their hearts and nurturing their spirit. It's all you wonderful bloggers who are living the life you love and making your dreams come true that inspire me right now.

Great call to action Mindy! I will email this to you as well. I am inspired by the process of breakdown to breakthrough. Working with people from all walks of life who are in a moment of breakdown. This can look any number of ways and it is in the moment where they make a decision or have an encounter that gets them to a-ha or causes them to shift perspective - it is in that moment that I truly get inspired by their boldness. The boldness it takes, the vulnerability and transparency it requires from an individual to be willing to move forward even when it's scary to do so, that clarity propels them to their breakthrough.

It is in that moment of being totally tired or feeling completely, broke, busted and disgusted with life, circumstance, moment and current reality that the call to action is birthed. When I am gifted with the opportunity to witness that moment with other, to share in the transparency, to be present to the breakthrough, I feel so fortunate and yes, inspired.

I am a pregnant women with my first baby and she already inspired me to do great and wonderful changes in my life. Nothing else was so inspiring for me till now!

Still there are many other things that inspire me as the Bible, the wonderful book of Antoine de Saint-Exupery - "The Little Prince" and the "Jonathan Livingston Seagull" by Richard Bach. The music of Bach. The beauty of the sunsets and the vastness of the ocean. The poetry, the art, landscapes, mountains, a smile, a look, a joke, a hug, a flower. Chayanne, Oprah and many, many others. The vision boards that I am planning to do for all areas of my life. And for sure - your wonderful website.

Thanks for your great work.

I am inspired by other people’s success stories. Especially the ones where there was a difficult struggle in the beginning. I am trying to "catch" the handle on that to help my own success. Thanks for your site/blog...it helps!

I am inspired by my youngest daughter, who continually pushes herself to achieve, to be the best she can be in any given situation, who loves unconditionally and yet holds each person in her life accountable for their actions. She is my 60's child who was born in the early 80's. She was in Grant Park on election night, wants to change the world, and is smart enough and caring enough to do so. She reminds me that life is about being yourself - not who others expect you to be. She is my hero.
