Regina McRae began Grandma’s Secrets in 1995 to bring the goodness of home baked to everyone. Although she had been baking since the age of 8, learning practically at her grandmother’s knee, it wasn’t until then that people outside her family and close friends tasted her wonderful pies, and encouraged her to begin a business. She often jokes that she began her business with $10 and 9 pies, but that is exactly what she did do.
With no funding, no start up capital, no business loans, and nothing but a great product and determination, she began what we become New York’s only dessert delivery company. Over the years Regina has been named New York Daily News Critics Choice for desserts in New York, and honored as Editors Choice by New York Magazine 5 years running. She has been featured in the New York Post, New York Times, Time Out New York Magazine, Modern Baking, The Times Herald-Record,, and has been a guest on CBS Channel 2 News, The Today Show, Good Day New York, the Food Network, MTV, Moscow Culture TV, and Fox 5 News, as well as numerous other publications.
She recently released her first publication “Taking the Cake”, a wedding cake guide book for the ethnic bride. After years of scouring the book shelves for wedding cake ideas for those desiring a cultural wedding cake, she wrote her own. This book is now ranked #1 on Amazon.com and GOOGLE books.
