10 fabulous ways to overcome stress

I wrote this post back in March and saw it being passed around on twitter recently so I freshened it up a bit and reflected on how I've really slipped on a few!

The list is a combo of my own ideas and tips from Susan Liddy's list - 50 fabulous ways to counteract stress. Susan is a MIL guest contributor and founder of Secret to Ultimate Living.

Which 10 fun and easy ideas can you work on?

1. Tuck yourself into bed early. I have fallen asleep twice this week by 8:30. The extra sleep gives me a fresh perspective and a bit more patience. 
2. Take 5, the laundry isn't running away. Although we wish it would. Take 5 minutes to sit and cozy up to your book, partner, kids and pets. Warm fuzzy feelings for all!
3. Focus on one thing at a time. This is a tough one but when I focus on one thing, I see huge results.
4. Practice saying “no”. I recently said no to a commitment. I'm behind on my work and already feel overloaded. I'm learning that sometimes just keeping my home and family happy, organized is the best I can do for now.
5. Stretch. Stretch while watching TV, listening to music, reading or playing w/ the kids!
6. Be grateful for all the good things in your life - big and small.
7. Call a friend who makes you laugh! It's tempting to email but really give them a jingle. It's so much better!
8. Be consistent with taking vitamin supplements. Vitamins are my wonder pills.
9. Get regular massages. 30-minute massages make this financially manageable. I really need to work on this one!
10. Open your windows and get outside!! Fall is here and the weather is gorgeous!
